The USB (Universal Serial Bus) connection standard is a rather simple standard for attaching a great number of different devices to PCs and notebooks. Until recently, technical reasons only allowed the connection of USB devices locally or via USB switch for one user only. The recommended maximum length for USB cables, five meters, restricts the flexible and independent use of USB devices.
